Is This a Pure German Shepherd?

A small dog with a tan coat.My dog looks like a Malinois. I have seen her mother and she was sable and the father was a silver German Shepherd. My dog is a working line and she curls her tail while barking. She is aggressive and very over-energetic and does not want to be trained.

The coloring and the face of this dog does not look like a German Shepherd to me. You could do a DNA test to determine the bloodline.

Only a DNA can give you proof of her background 100%. She looks to have the DNA of a Malinois and German Shepherd. Although she has a lot of blonde features , her snout has a darker shade favoring a Shepherd and Malinois. Take a look at the photos of mixed breed , Malinois and Shepherd-Look closely there are a few that look like her - www.bing.com/.../search?q=malinois+and+german+shepherd....

It is very difficult to base an opinion of breeding based on pictures and with only one picture (and in a laying position) it would be almost a 'fantasy' guess.

You do not state her age, height, weight and these are factors that help show/describe her breeding. Type of pictures that can help identify breeding (along with other information) will be side pictures showing full body size/type with tail and head showing in full picture. Also a full face looking straight into camera.

She looks like a beautiful dog and looks to be still young enough to continue with training even if she is stubborn. Training will be a big pay-off later as any of these breeds are very energetic dogs and need lots of daily exercise so proper training is essential.

She could be a mix of Malinois/shepherd but may have another breed also as her fur does not look exactly like shepherd and I believe true Malinois dogs have a darker face.

Hopefully she is getting her first year shots/vaccinations so you should ask her vet what they think about her breeding as they have access to all of the necessary information and a hands-on feel of her bone-structure, etc.

Remember; puppies can be susceptible to all the diseases floating around everywhere.

You do not say if you received your dog from a registered breeder but it sounds like probably not. A true German shepherd usually costs between $90-thousands and of course, they have official paperwork.
You can check out some of the breeds and see how their looks and size/weight check out with the information on each breed and that might give you a little more to go on.
Some people really like have a DNA test as these kits tell a lot more about your dog than just the breeding. The cost usually run somewhere between $67 - thousands but the inexpensive test tells all about the dog. These kits are sold online, pet stores and your vet.

I have never seen or heard of a blonde German Shepherd - I have of course seen the Black and Tan and the all-white and the all-black, but never this colour before

She's a beaut, yep I'd say she's a GSD, just like mine. She's the double of mine. So sweet. Her mum was white and her dad black and gold. Apparently it's in the colour gene of both parents, if they have the same gene, you get a golden colour dog.

They are head turner's and the start of conversations, everyone wants to let her. Also I've read they are more placid, which I can agree with, she's a sweetheart.
