Keep Chore List for Helpers

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 355 Posts

My Handy HelpersEighteen months ago I lost my husband of 42 years of marriage.

Ever since, My three sons and one daughter have been wonderful about making sure that things are getting done around my house.

They are always reminding me to use one of those magnetic chore pads that stick to my refrigerator and as I see a light bulb out, or a chirping smoke detector, a leaky faucet, etc. I write it down on the pad! And each of my children takes turns coming up each Saturday to go over the list. Even if there is nothing on my list, it turns out to be a date day out. They take me food shopping, pharmacy shopping, out for a wonderful lunch, and so much more. And the best part is the grandchildren that come with them.

Over the course of a weekend, I always get to see all eleven grandchildren anyway! "Life doesn't get better than Grandchildren." They are Nana's medicine for her broken heart! :) - One proud happy Nana.

Sorry for your loss but it's so good to see your love and support and your appreciation of your blessings. You are an inspiration.

Your note brought tears. What a blessing your adult kids and your grandkids are to you. Mine are a blessing to me as well. You did something right for sure!!

Your are a very lucky lady; a lot of Grandkids, mine included stop coming around or even call when they reach their late teens and early 20ies. That's about the time I put a hault to the expensive gifts. My Daughter lives 5 hours away and works. I often wonder what I'll do as I get older.

I do the best I can at 75 but it's nearly impossible to find a handyman to do small chores. I've been trying for months to get some one to make repairs on my patio cover but no one whats a job that small.
