Keeping Cats from Chewing Power Cords

After replacing the power cords on our lap tops twice in one month due to our cat chewing them, we got vinyl tubing from the home improvement store of different diameters and split them on one side. This fits over the cords and keeps the cats from chewing through.

I have the same problem so I have given him an old extension cord and put it under a piece of furniture so he can work to get it out. He now chews on that. I have also used bitter apple spray (bought at Pet Smart) and spray it on cords. He hates it and stays away from them.

A "thriftier" method is to use sections of an old garden hose cut to the right length - that is what I do.
