I've had success by 'painting' the spots where the puppy would chew with hot pepper sauce (the really hot kind). Obviously you would use the smooth sauce, nothing chunky or sweet hot! I've painted book cases, tables, chairs, and rockers, just the parts that would be attractive to a puppy. It worked so well that my old Golden avoided a particular spot for 12 years! Bad memories, I guess. I've even used the hot sauce on my hands when training a puppy not to bite. That worked pretty well, until a Rottie decided he liked the taste.

The pepper sauce will definately help. I have another problem with my Wienie (daschhund). She eats cacti. I caught her in the act a few years ago, destroying a cactus pear plant by biting chunks out of the leaves until she got a heap and then eating it. Caught her yesterday eating my one cactus, because I left her home to visit my neighbour across the street. Do not think the pepper sauce will help on the cacti?

I had a cat that liked to chew on cords. The Hot Sauce worked on that also. Again, use the liquid sauce and just rub on the cord.
