This can happen for many reasons:
maybe spring is broken,
maybe lint or dust got into the oil during sitting unused for long time and oil inside becomes glue like and freezes up moving parts. Then warm up your sewing machine with a hair dryer set on medium during 20 min, clean areas that you can get to easily and add 1-2 drops of fresh sewing machine oil.

There is a post about repairing (if you have any more problems): www.thriftyfun.com/Repairing-a-Kenmore-Sewing-Machine...

There could be many reasons. You may have to change the needle. Your tension could be off. There may be a wiring short.

We need more information.

Does the machine turn on? Do you hear the motor running?

When you say 'My Kenmore 1941 is not stitching' do you mean you have been using your machine and it stopped working?
Or so you mean that you have not used it recently and now it is not working?

There are numerous reasons any machine would not stitch correctly but I think we would need more information to provide suggestions.

Perhaps you could join one or more of the sewing forums online and see if they can provide more answers - otherwise it is just a 'guessing game' as to what is wrong with your machine.
It is easy to join and these members know how to ask correct questions so they can guide you through ways to solve your problems. You can also return anytime you like for further instructions. They also have sewing classes, free patterns and lots of just information. All sites are free to join.
