Kraft Roka Blue Spread Substitute

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 846 Posts
I've seen several requests regarding Roka Blue, so for those of you lovers looking for this discontinued product you're in luck, because I found it. Kraft Kitchen themselves swear this is the perfect substitute recipe for the original! This recipe equals two of the original 5 ounce jars.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • water for thinning, if desired

Directions:

Mix the cream cheese and blue cheese until well blended; add 1 tablespoon at a time of water (up to 5 tablespoons) for a thinner consistency if desired.

Note: For a tangier flavor add 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar.

I thought it was discontinued too but it always seems to come back around the holidays. But it was on our shelves at Albertson's till about a few days ago. I hope it comes back.

Thank you so much as I have a recipe from my mother back in the 50s that she made a liver sausage spread using Kraft Roka Blue cheese spread. THANK YOU!!!!

You saved me! Couldn't find it anywhere (with the exception of having to commit to 6 jars of expired Kraft Roka Blue on Amazon) so I took a chance with this substitute AND IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY!!! Thank you so much!

do you blend the blue cheese so it is smooth and not chunks

I think you can do either, but it was very smooth in the jar.

Even after I put the blue cheese in the food processor and mixed it with cream cheese and water for a long time, it was gritty. Im sure my grand kids will not like it since it does not have the same consistency as the jar.

Im very disappointed and angry with Kraft for pulling such a stunt at the holidays. It is a dirty trick on their customers.

Can you use blue cheese dressing instead of regular blue cheese

It won't be as thick if you use dressing instead but that might be fine, depending on what you are using it for. Give it a try and let us know how it turns out.
