Are you doing this as part of cleaning someone's house as where I am that matters and you should not add that much extra to do laundry because you toss it in when you get there and work on the rest of the house while it is washing.

If this is not part of a housecleaning event, then in high end parts of town people charge up to $3.00 a pound. This is specific to western PA, places like California, NY and TX I am sure it is way more than that!

Pittsburgh is moderate to low in pricing for most services.

See what your local laundromats that have this service charge and that will give you what people in your area are willing to pay.

You will have to add money for pick up and delivery. That depends on where you live also and can range from $5 to $10 a trip.

Wishing you all the best!

1. Are you doing laundry only? Or do you also clean the house or is the laundry going to be apart of the service?
2. Are you doing laundry at their place? Your place? Or at a laundromat? If it is not at the place then you would have to factor in gas + time.

3. Do you have to fold the clothes? How long does it take you? Factor in time as well.

If you are doing this apart of cleaning service, you would run the laundry then clean, and come back to fold.

Washing folding and putting away today was 5 hours they had someone who was doing it but they no longer work for them so it had built up. They have 3 kids all under 8 years old. I will be going twice a week laundry and light housekeeping

Laundry is usually charged by the pound. The dollar amount is determined by where you live. Visit some laundromats and see what they charge.

If you are picking up and delivering laundry charge at least $10 extra.

It is difficult to give you a very good answer because you did not state if this is an "add on" to a regular house cleaning service or if it is a "stand alone" job. There would be a big difference in how much to charge.

There is no "national" average for doing cleaning or for laundry services as different areas in the same city can be a world of difference in price.

If this is just laundry service (such as a laundromat or dry cleaners does) (wash, dry, fold or hang up) then you should check what these companies are charging in the area where the service is to be done.

If it is pick up and deliver then you need to consider the gas and wear and tear on your car and to do that you should find out what service companies are charging per mile in your area (could be from 40 to $1.00 per mile or you can just add an additional flat fee). If you are taking the clothes inside and putting them "away" then you need to consider your time in that area also.

If this is an add-on to a regular job then you will just need to add the time to your regular hourly rate or add a flat fee for your time. You should already know approximately how much you are charging per hour for the job so add the time to your/money to your regular contract.

There will be a big difference in price in every state, every city, and different areas of a city so do some research and see what others are adding for this service. Most house cleaning businesses advertise on the Internet and they usually have a list of services they do with normal charges listed and also list the prices they charge for added services and laundry is usually one of those "extra" services. You may have to check several companies before finding out what you need to know for your area.
