Laurel Leaf Headdress

Here's another year for my kiddo's United Nations Celebration. This means another DIY costume. His country was Greece and so I'm gonna need a headdress. Mostly they are laurel leaf headdresses, so I'm gonna make one.

  1. Stick two pieces of paper together.
  2. Roll the paper into a thin strip.
  3. Cover the entire strip with double sided tape.
  4. Roll the covered strip into golden tinsel foil.

  6. Put two tips together to form a ring. Set aside.
  7. On a box or piece of cardboard, draw a laurel leaf.
  8. Cut it out and make approximately 20-30 pieces.
  9. Cut tinsel foil into a strip and fold several times.
  10. Stick one leaf onto the top layer and cut out following its shape. That way you were able to make more golden leaves.

  12. Fold the leaf into half, crease well.
  13. Pinch the sides diagonally upwards and crease well.
  14. Stick the golden leaves onto both sides of the cardboard leaf.
  15. Stick the leaves onto the golden ring in alternate directions. See photo.
  16. Cover the entire ring with golden leaves.
