Layered Hair is Damaged?

I have very long hair and it's in layers. For some reason I've noticed that hair that is in layers once it's damaged it looks horrible.
I don't have any split ends and it really don't want to cut my hair, but the bottom layer is pretty damaged. Please help. Do you have any recommendations?

You can't really "repair" damaged hair - it must be cut off. But try to figure out what's doing the damage! Blow dryer, curling iron, flat iron, dye/bleach? Best to cut off the damage, avoid what damaged it in the first place, and condition regularly. You may not have split ends now, but the damaged hair will break off and you will have split ends.

It's not the layering that is causing the damage. Something else is. Are you a flat iron user? I am and at one point because I hadn't been protecting my hair prior to flat ironing it it got beat pretty bad. Add any kind of chemical processes that one can do to hair: color, keratin, chemical straightening, perms or highlights, and you got issues waiting to happen to even the most well cared for hair.

Deep condition your hair on a regular basis with coconut oil, Jamaican black castor oil, lavender essential oil, peppermint oil(just a few drops, it'll tingle nicely), sweet almond oil, and jojoba oil... create a blend that you like using a combo of these. You dont need to use all of them. You can also add tea tree oil, strong medincial smell or neem oil but it has a very pungent smell that most people liken to fried onions mixed with fried sweaty socks.

Pure Moroccan Argan oil is great as well but pricey. Warm your blend massage it thru hair and onto scalp. Leave it on anywhere from 20 minutes to all night -depending on your comfort level and the dryness of your hair then shampoo out ...don't over condition after. It feels great and your hair will be soft and moisturized with shine and you will feel pampered.

I have found the best protection prior to drying and or flatiron or curling iron use is a few drops of a store bought argan oil treatment, just takes a little, , smells nice and if you don't use too much it doesn't make your hair look or feel greasy . It will feel sleek and smooth. I use organix brand, costs about 7 dollars max. cheaper at walmart kind of stores as opposed to drug stores or salons.

Make certain you get regular trims because the only real way to get rid of damaged hair is to cut it off. Good luck
