Mail Wedged in the Letterbox?

Mail Wedged in the Letterbox - wads of mailRecently we had a lot of rain and someone had posted a rolled up ton of mailers and junk in my letterbox. Of course, the papers swelled and got jammed in the opening. I've tried brute force, tried ripping little bits off it, but it's still packed tight. Has anyone got any bright spark of an idea how to solve this without putting a new fence in? :)

One of the easiest ways to do this is by getting a hammer and removing one of the boards or taking the nails out of the top of the board. This way you can move the board and get this out. You can also use a saw electric or hand and saw down through the middle of the paper to get it out. The only other way is to get a hammer and piece of metal pipe and hit the mail with the pipe and hammer until it moves out of there.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful suggestions (although the fire one was a bit drastic, even if it might have worked haha!) it's very kind of you to respond.

My lovely son solved it for me yesterday by ripping the centre out with pliers until it loosened enough to come away. Dilemma over, phew!

Take something sturdy and push through the front. You can also take a water hose and soak it , until it softens. Then remove!

Even though rain may have caused the papers to swell and jam, water may be a good way to solve the problem, just as Ana said. It is certainly an easy tip to try.

I would use a saw.Cut straight down the middle this should loosen it enough to take it out.

You could try drilling through the paper to loosen it up.

I kind of want to say, fire. Kill it with fire.

You can torch through it with a blowtorch or light it on fire in some other way. If you have water or fire extinguisher nearby, it would work out well.

I think something should be done about the persons who did this to you. This is uncalled for and worthy of a complaint.
