Maintaining an In-ground Swimming Pool?

We pained our swimming pool several years ago.

1. Empty the swimming pool of all water.
2. If your pool has flakes or pealing paint this has to be cleaned.
3. The pool supply store has all the products you will need to clean the pool before painting it again.
4. We had a black bottom pool and had to repaint the black in the pool.
5. We purchased special paint from the pool supply store to do this.
6. We needed to apply 3 coats of paint to the bottom of the pool.
7. Each coat needed 24 hours to dry before the next coat was added.

8. We already had the pump and filters so we stayed with chlorine.
9. If you want to do a salt system I believe you will need to change your pump, filters, and use a different type of paint for the pool so the salt water won't harm the cement.

Ask at your local pool supply store for what you will need to change and what paint to use if you want to go with a salt system in your pool.

• You can use acrylic paints on any pool surface.
• Drain the water and remove any dirt.
• The salt water system is basically the same as chlorine.

• The salt water is converted into chlorine.
• The salt water has to be cleaned more.
• So if you choose salt water it is more maintenance.
