Making Jello With Yogurt

January 29, 2005
A dish of jello mixed with yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 1 small package jello
  • 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt instead of cold water

Directions

Dissolve the jello in 1 cup of hot water as the box directions say. Put the yogurt in the bowl you plan to use for the jello and slowly whisk in the jello, stirring with the whisk until no lumps remain, although lumps don't hurt the taste. Chill until set. The yogurt cuts the sweetness of the jello and adds nutrition. If you want to dress it up, whipped cream can put on top when serving.

Here is a nice, inexpensive, low calorie dessert. Use any flavor sugar free jello and instead of the cold water add one 8 oz. container of non fat yogurt (any flavor will do).
