Making Veggie and Cheese Christmas Trees

Total Time: 20 minutes

Supplies:

• carrot
• cucumber
• string cheese
• sharp knife
• veggie peeler
• toothpicks

Steps:

1. To make the tree stumps, chop the carrot into equal sized pieces.

 
2. To make the stumps the same size, trim around the larger pieces by using the smallest one as a guide.

 
3. Repeat and set aside.

 
4. To make the tree's greenery, make long thin strips of cucumber using your veggie peeler.

5. Poke the base of a toothpick into the center of the carrot and press down. Place the end of a cucumber strip onto the toothpick. This is the first layer of tree greenery.

 
6. Keep making folds with the cucumber strip. The widest should be at the base, getting more narrow at the top of the tree. Repeat with the others and set aside.

 
7. To make the star toppers, chop equal sized pieces from the cheese stick.

8. Cut little triangles from the perimeter of the cheese pieces until you have a star.

 
9. Repeat with the rest of the cheese.

 
10. Place a star on top of the tree. Make sure the toothpick does not go all the way through the star.
