Making a Homemade Frankenstein Costume

A detection of Frankenstein's monster.
Frankenstein's monster is a classic Halloween costume idea, originally created as a character in the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It has been reinterpreted many times in movies and TV shows, including Herman Munster.

Most people paint their exposed skin grey or green with short black hair or a wig. Stitching around the neck, top of the head and other joints make it appear that the body parts have been sewn together. Bolts on the neck or head can be glued on or attached with a wire around the back of the neck. An old ill-fitting suit completes the look.

This costume is best for a tall man but can be adapted for any size or age. A cute couple costume can be made by adding a Bride of Frankenstein, using a dark frizzy wig with a white lighting bolt streak at the temple.
