Christmas is a time of sharing and having fun together as a family. Here is an activity that you and the kids can do together. Make a few of these reindeer candy boxes, and let the kids give them to their friends or their favorite teachers. A cute way of spreading festive joy without leaving the budget in a mess.

Total Time: 20 minutes

Yield: one candy box

  • provided pattern sheet for the ears
  • 2.5 in high brown plastic flower pot
  • A6 size of brown shimmer cardstock
  • two long red pipe cleaners
  • pair of 15mm yellow wiggle eyes
  • 15mm red pompom
  • small cellophane bag
  • mini marshmallows
  • 0.1 in wide golden metallic ribbon
  • Artline 210 fineliner black pen
  • red and brown felt tip pens
  • standard scissors
  • quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)

  1. Glue the two wiggle eyes to the pot.
  2. Glue the red pompom below the eyes ~ this will be the nose.
  3. Use the black pen to draw a mouth and allow to dry thoroughly.
  4. Trace and cut two ears from the brown shimmer cardstock.

  6. Color the inside of the ears with the red felt-tip pen, and add some shadows to the ears with the brown felt-tip pen.
  7. Make a fold in the one tip of each ear and then glue the ears to the pot.
  8. Cut two pieces, each with a length of 4" from the one pipe cleaner. From the second pipe cleaner cut two pieces, each with a length of 3". Twist each shorter piece around a longer piece to make the antlers.
  9. Glue the antlers to the inside of the pot and bend them slightly.
  10. Add the marshmallows to the cellophane bag. Tie the ribbon around the bag and make a bow. Cut the top of the bag shorter to make the end result neater.
  11. Add the bag of candy and voila!
