Finished shirt and tie bookmark for Dad.Children will enjoy working on this simple and fun craft to make as a gift for Dad. Some of it is a bit tricky for younger children, but with a bit of help they can make and give this fun bookmark that Dad will be proud of.

Supplies:

  • plain coloured paper
  • crayons or marker pens
  • Biro to write a message
  • pencil
  • glue

Steps:

  1. You will need a strip of paper 4.5cm x 21cm. 21cm is the length of the short edge of a piece of A4 paper (or the short edge of a piece of A5 paper).
  2. Marking 4.5 inches on a piece of paper.
     
  3. Measure and mark carefully using your pencil. A guillotine will give the best results for cutting, but scissors are fine in you cut carefully.
  4. Cutting white paper into a strip.
     
  5. Make a mark with your pencil 1cm from the top edge.

  7. At the same level divide the bookmark into thirds by marking every 1.5cm.

  9. Make a cut on each side.

  11. Fold the sides in to look like a shirt collar.

  15. Then draw a v shape at the bottom.

  17. Colour it in.
  18. Drawing stripes on the tie.
     
  19. Use a little dab of glue to hold the collar down.
  20. Glueing down folded paper for collar.
     
  21. Make a dot on each side of the collar to look like buttons.
  22. Adding button details to the tie bookmark.
     
  23. Write your message.
  24. Writing that says "Best Dad Ever!"
