Making an Egyptian Headdress - smiling child wearing the headdressA very last minute activity was assigned to me. This was urgent so I had to gather random materials that could be used to make an Egyptian headdress.

Steps:

  1. I am using a pizza cardboard box in this project; cut it in half.
  2. Making an Egyptian Headdress - cut scrap cardboard in half
     
  3. Glue the ends together. Adjust the length based on the size of the user's head.
  4. Making an Egyptian Headdress - glue the ends of the two pieces together
     
  5. Glue the other ends together to form a circle or a crown.
  6. Making an Egyptian Headdress - adjust length for head size and glue ends together
     
  7. Wrap it with black fabric.
  8. Making an Egyptian Headdress - wrap with black fabric

  9. Paint vertical yellow lines to make stripes, sprinkle with golden glitter and set aside to dry.
  10. Making an Egyptian Headdress - paint on yellow or gold vertical lines and sprinkle with glitter, set aside
     
  11. Take 1 1/2 meters of black fabric and stick strips of tape in a horizontal position with 2 inches distance between each.
  12. Making an Egyptian Headdress - stick tape down on black fabric
     
  13. Paint the black lines (in between tapes) with yellow.
  14. Making an Egyptian Headdress - paint the black spaces between the tape yellow
     
  15. Sprinkle with golden glitter. Set aside to dry.
  16. Making an Egyptian Headdress - sprinkle with gold glitter and set aside to dry

  17. When the paint has dried, remove the tape strips and attach the black striped cloth to the crown using hot glue.
  18. Making an Egyptian Headdress - when paint has dried remove tape and attach the cloth to the circle/crown with hot glue
     
  19. Mission accomplished!
