Marking Empty Boxes

I am always looking for free storage. Shoe boxes are great except you can't see what is in them. What is more frustrating than not knowing what is inside, is not knowing if there is anything inside.

I helped an office get organized once and cleared out a bunch of stuff in their file drawers. Not wanting them to waste time and energy thinking they were going to find something there, I came up with this time saver.

Anything that was void of any items, I put a note saying "MT". Now I do it with my boxes and it's a good tip to pass along for those organizing, cleaning out, etc.

When a food container is "MT", I turn it upside down so I can put it on my shopping list. But this works for boxes and containers that you don't want to get down only to find there is nothing in it.
