I just set a hot pan on top of a microfiber cloth, now I have melted microfiber all over the bottom of my good pan. Any ideas of how to get it off? I can't use the pan on the stove or it will ruin the stove too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare, Sister G. I've not encountered this before and I do use microfiber cloths for a few things around the house. If you have a heat gun or even hair dryer, what do you think about trying to warm up that mess a bit and see if you can scrape it off with a putty knife? If it melted once onto your pan, perhaps melting it again will help remove it?
I am.from.south africa i soaked my pot in the zink.eith boing eater and white vinegar for a few hours and smazingly when it dries i peel it away with my fingers wow would love that prize we are all un employed here
Thank you i almost peed in my pants but then i got this method on internet and that microfiber cloth piece is removed. Thanks for saving my life. Yours sincerely a scared child xD
I heated a large pot of boiling water on the stove top and placed the pan with the burnt microfiber into the pot. After 5-10 minutes carefully remove the pan from the boiling water. Make sure you have an oven mit as the handle will heat up. I then used a razor scraper and a metal putty knife to scrape the burnt microfiber residue off.
I had a place mat melted on a pan and I used Un-du and I lifted it from the pan.
I just saved an expensive stainless steel pan thanks to you all. It is very easy. The one commentator is correct. HEAT IT UP AGAIN. (I put mine in the oven at 450 (on parchment paper in case something melted off (!) - and then - while it was still hot (careful, use a good mitt) - - scraped the layer of melted microfiber off with a razor blade scraper. It came off pretty darn easily. (No need for vinegar or anything else).
