I have a one year old GE microwave that works fine, once, then I have to unplug it for approximately five minutes. After five minutes or so, I plug it back in and it works perfectly, once, but then I have to repeat the process: unplug, wait, plug it in, and use.

there is a you tube vid that addresses this problem. I repaired mine by wrapping paper around ribbon cable that connects to control panel about a year ago. It has worked fine since.
