Does anyone know how to remove clear nail polish the your interior carpet of your vehicle?

Nail Polish on Carpet

My daughter and her slumber party friends spilled a bottle of red nail polish on my living room carpet years ago and guess what I took it off with? (with no remaining color in the carpet whatsoever). Nail polish remover. Go get some "real" nail polish remover though, Acetone (remover used to contain it, but no longer does) and try that. You can find it at some drug stores and they definitely carry it at lumber yard type stores. Wear gloves and use a clean cloth and try not to rub it, more like dab it briskly.

(It spreads if you rub). Use a lot of elbow grease and keep going until it comes off. When it is off, use soap and water (fresh rag) and then get as much of the Acetone out as you can. It is smelly (and poisonous, so take care). If you can, air out your car with the windows down for a bit. You might want to put a dry cloth over the spot also with a brick or something heavy to soak up any remaining liquid. (06/15/2010)
