Organizing Plastic Bags

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 449 Posts

Organizing Plastic BagsPlastic shopping bags are recyclable. These can be used for sealing or transporting things. Plastic bags can be very annoying to the eyes as they scatter in every place at your home. Here's how I organize my plastic bags after shopping.

First gather the plastic bags in one place. Get one plastic bag and flatten it using your hands. Fix the folds of the plastic bag.

Put the bag into horizontal position and fold it twice.

Starting from the bottom, make alternate triangle folds following the line until you reach the handle. Organizing Plastic Bags

Notice the opening, seal the fold by inserting the end of the handle into that opening.

Get any available container and arrange the triangles according on it's size. Now it's tidier and easier for you to keep and locate your plastic shopping bags when needed.

I don't take the time for that. I put mine in a larger dept store bag and hang on a hook in my garage. Then I keep several in an empty tissue box in my pantry and a few in each bathroom under the sinks. What works for me may not work for someone else.

Folding them? Really? What a waste of time? Stuff them into a tissue box or put them into bottom of wastebaskets so u have them at hand when u pull out and discard the one u gave filled w trash.

I just used the "kiss" method. When I bring my bags back from the grocery I just flatten it, make a loose knot and throw it into one of the other bags that I brought home. The remaining bags (and future ones) also get tied into a loose knot and placed into the one bag until full.

I use pegs to hang the filled and my next unfilled bag. Then when needed I just reach in and pull one out.

I shop at the grocery store where you have to bring your own shopping bags so therefore I'm not the grocery store cloth bag and is very large so I keep all the plastic bags in my grocery shopping bag and when I go to the grocery store I'll take the bag with me. I also use the plastic bags as small garbage bags in small trash cans.
