Pasta Bracelet - bracelet on wristPasta isn't just for making food. It can be used even if not cooked. Never think that your pasta is wasted when the expiry date comes and you were not able to cook them. See how I transformed expired macaroni pasta into an accessory.

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Use watercolor to shade pasta in different colors. Set aside and let dry.
  2. Pasta Bracelet - dye with water color paint and allow to dry
     
  3. Cut each piece into half.
  4. Pasta Bracelet - cut each piece in half
     
  5. Get a piece of nylon string about 10-12 inches long and fold it twice and measure the size of your wrist.
  6. Pasta Bracelet - measuring wrist with nylon string
     
  7. Create a loop and tie a knot. Now you have two string lines.
  8. Pasta Bracelet - make a loop and then tie a knot

  9. Insert two strings in one bead. Then put one bead each on the two lines of string separately.
  10. Pasta Bracelet - thread double sting through one bead
     
    Pasta Bracelet - thread one bead on each of the two lengths of string
     
  11. On the first line, put different colors of pasta and beads alternately. Then do the same with the other line.
  12. Pasta Bracelet - begin stringing pasta and beads alternately on each of the two pieces of nylon
     
  13. Lock the strings by inserting two strings together in one bead and tie a knot. Cut out the excess strings.
  14. Pasta Bracelet - insert the two pieces through a final bead, knot, and cut off the excess.
     
  15. The bracelet is now ready.

  17. Lock the bracelet by inserting the last bead into the loop.
  18. Pasta Bracelet - attach the ends by inserting the final bead into the original loop
     
  19. Now, you can start wearing your colorful pasta bracelet.

Just because the pasta has passed it's expiration date, as long as it has always been stored dry, it should still be good to use for eating. Don't waste food when so many people go hungry in this world, no matter how cute your craft project is.
