Plastic Bottle Tops for Cellophane Caps

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 118 Posts

A makeshift closure to a plastic bag, using a bottle top and cap.Sometimes I am all out of jars and containers to store my recipes or my ingredients. Since recycling is important to me, I used plastic bottles as cap for my open ingredients in their cellophane pack.

First cut the plastic bottle from the tip of the mouth, about 1 1/2 inches.

Heat the cut edge on a flat iron to give it a smooth edge.

Insert the bottle top in the open cellophane to make a closed cap, and you're done! There's no need for jars or containers anymore.

Hi I have a question about the process. Are you gluing the plastic bottle half to the cellophane bag? I feel like I have missed a step.
Thanks,

No maam, no need of using glue. Just insert the cellophane to the plastic bottle. And pull the cellophone on the side of the plastic bottle before you close the cap.

You don't glue it, you just pull the open bag through the screw top opening in the bottle. Then you fold the open bag on the outside of the bottle and screw the cap over the bag material.

It is sealed until you unscrew it.
