Refilling a Swiffer Wet Jet?

These are really nice to use but refill bottles are almost highway robbery. This is an easy fix and only takes a few minutes and it will work with other Non-refillable bottles similar to this.

• Heat a cup of water in microwave approximately 2 minutes (close to a boil).
• Take empty Wet Jet bottle and place in cup of hot water - hold top under water for about 1 minute (longer sometimes).
• Remove bottle and immediately take oven mitt, pot holder or thick cloth and twist off cap (easy job).
• Use clippers (toenail best) or X-acto knife to clip/cut plastic tips on inside of cap. These are what make the lid hard to remove. Your cap is now ready to use.

• Refill your bottle with cleaner of your choice. Some people use white vinegar but others use a mild household cleaner or floor cleaner (that does not have to be rinsed).
• Amount to use? Personal preference but usually about 1/4 cup vinegar/cleaner and then fill the bottle with water.

I would suggest you try different cleaners and maybe even milder solutions until you find what works best for you.

I can't believe how difficult it is to break into this bottle. This is a great way for you to rob the public who enjoy your product. If you could make the Swiffer it stands to reason that you could make an easier bottle to open.

I like your products, but this is ridiculous. Please let me know when you get an easier open/refillable bottle.

Step 1
Dunk the bottle cap in hot water to soften the plastic.

Step 2
Twist it off.

Step 3
Clip off the little locking tabs with a pair of nail clippers.

Step 4
Your previously locked Wet Jet reservoir is now a plain old refillable bottle you can refill with the cleaning solution of your choice.

The cap is self-locking but it is just plastic, nothing special.

Step 1
Boil a small pot of water and dunk the cap into the pot.

Step 2
Take the cap off. The hot water will have softened the plastic.

Step 3
Then clip off the locking tabs with the nail clippers.

Now it is a refillable bottle for you to put whatever solution you want in it.
