Remedy for a Dog's Itchy Skin?

My dog is forever chewing her butt above her tail. We give her frequent baths. Can I use distilled vinegar as a spray?

Try picking up some omega oil specifically for your dog's skin. I found some at Wal-Mart in the pet section and just pour some on his food. It really does help their skin. Also, rubbing the area with a little vitamin e oil or coconut oil will be soothing initially.

This is typical of a flea allergy or a food allergy. Obviously flea treatment is important. Try switching to a hypoallergenic food. It may take a few tries to get the right food. I ended up cooking for my allergic dog.

If your dog has been chewing one spot for awhile he may have a yeast infection of his skin. You would need to ask your Vet how to threat a yeast infection.

If she has scratched herself raw putting vinegar on it will be painful. Does she have fleas? That is the first place the fleas will bite.

And some dogs are very sensitive regarding fleas. Just one flea can cause the problem that you are having with her.
