Removing Green Water Stains on House Siding?

How do I remove dark green stains on siding from a dripping faucet? The same thing I would use for tubs and sinks? It's so bad I'm thinking of painting this small area with white primer.

It is algae. Remove with a solution of chlorine bleach and water.

That is what my dad did many, many years ago when he had the same issue on the overhang. He painted it with a rustoleum type product. He got up on the roof and scrubbed it down first, then painted. That green stuff is a huge challenge to remove.

Sometimes painting is the best solution.

There is a product call "Spray and Forget" that is great for removing algae. I used it on my RV. It doesn't work immediately, but doesn't harm the thing you spray or any plants it may get on.

Since you say this is a small area - just where the water drips/runs down from an outside wall faucet you will not need a large quantity of cleaner.

Make a trip to your local Dollar Tree and buy a spray container of;
Totally Awesome Cleaner with Bleach
This will clean it up in no time. Leave on spot for 15 to 30 minutes and just bush it off and rinse.

Very handy spray container.
You can always add a little chlorine bleach if necessary.

Similar products are sold at other stores but usually cost more than $1.

I live in the tropics and we have a lot of geen algie all the time. I use a power sprayer to clean the places the algie is really bad. You can also mix some bleach with water and use a scrub brush to clean this.

This stain is not algae. It is from the pipes.
