Removing Sharpie from a Computer Screen?

Will just normal acetone nail polish remover get rid of Sharpie without damaging my computer screen or is there a certain acetone nail polish remover I need to use?

Use one part isopropyl alcohol to two parts water to get it off.

No, using this on your monitor can damage the screen. I would use rubbing alcohol to do this one. You can mix it with a little water to tone it down a bit.

Other than this visit a computer store and buy the screen cleaner. This should also work.

I would not further dilute it with water. The alcohol evaporates quickly, water could ruin the computer.

What kind of screen is it? Depends if it's LCD etc...

Do. Or use acetone, or nail polish remover. It could melt the plastic of your computer screen. If its glass go ahead, but it most likely is plastic. I recommend a small amount of running. Alcohol on a cotton round.

The higher percentage would be better- 90% is only 10% water, whereas 50% is half water. Water is bad for electronics. I can almost guarantee alcohol will remove it for you, its what I use myself.

How long has it been stained? I had luck getting most of a fresh stain off with a dry erase eraser...an eraser made for a dry erase board. Never put anything wet/liquid on your screen or it could cause more damage.

You might try covering a little of the mark with a dry-erase marker and see if it will rub off and take the Sharpie mark with it.
