Repairing a Bubble in Painted Wallpaper?

I have painted over wallpaper that was attached to the sheet rock. There is a bubble about 4 inches in diameter. What is the repair method for this size of a bubble?

I would slit it and flatten it out.

This is not an uncommon problem and pretty simple to fix.

  • You can slit a hole/slash in the paper (no bigger than necessary) and press to see if the bubble releases the air.
  • You may have to slit it a little more if air does not release.
