My air mattress is leaking air, but I can't find a hole anywhere! I think it may be the built-in pump. I can hear a hard piece sliding around inside my air bed, and thinking maybe the pump broke off inside? My mattress will fill up and hold air, but it leaks rapidly. I have to add air every hour to keep from sinking to the floor by morning.
Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it? Please advise!

I have the very same issue. My airbed is fine when I go to sleep. But it deflates and I end up like a hotdog in a bun, with the mattress around me and I'm on the floor.
No one seems to reply to how to remove the built in air pump in intex mattresses. Its common to have a leak around the face plate. Other mattress pumps can be removed by turning the round inflator knob counter clockwise to the stop, and then muscling it further. They have reverse threads that allow the pump assembly to be removed. The intex unit doesnt seem to have that feature, or if it does , its a secret that repair people dont want to reveal.
It seems that the valve that stops the air, is not sealing properly, the reason is because it accumulates hair, dust, or any particle that is is obstructing that seal properly, the problem there is no way to clean, there is no way to open and fix it as it is closed Tightly.
I have the same problem of air by the valve. How do I fix it?
I am trying to access the pump switch so I can see why the pump will only come on for a second before shutting off. I am finding it very difficult to find a way to get inside so I can repair it.
We bought the same mattress last night opened it up filled it and slept on it,an hour if not less the pump comes on as if inflating but doesn't a horrible night sleep going to try and take it back today since we paid $170 bucks for quite unimpressed by the so called " never flat "

I have the same problem. It truly is a drag. I think people in general don't really care about quality. The ones that manufacture stuff.
Intex air bed On mine I push in the 2 tabs on each side of a valve and then turn counter clockwise and pull and it comes out. I just don't know what to put on it to seal the gask it It will have 2 tabs stickingyou know on the site. Squeeze them together and twist and the canister comes out Valve and all stays is the box.
I have the same issue but I have an airfox mattress. When I plug my mattress the pump won't inflate the bed....
Mine wen i pump it works just seconds and stops what can i do or how do i fix it

Im having this same exact issue there is no hole but the bed is deflated in 5-6 hours I have looked everywhere and can't find a manual how to repair it even YouTube is useless
Use soap water spray around the pump, that is where I just found my problem. Now I'm trying to figure out how to fix it.
Sealing the whole airpump with ductape after inflate, could be a solution.
My bed deflates overnight after a few hours it is to soft to use i checked for leaks and it seams to be the pump is there a fix for this

Try spraying suspect leak areas with water diluted washing up liquid. The leaking areas with start bubbling then seal it with hot wax is best for instant results
They are just push-in pins that you see on the pump. get a small pick tool and pry them out. there are no screws
The instruction manual stated that it could leak slightly for the first few uses and then come good. mine got better. There were no obvious leaks. I contacted Intex, told them the problem and model number and right away the reply was "It most likely the pump, which is not repairable.
Nope doesn't work. Tried flex seal all around the pump housing and it is still leaking!
I took the complete air pump out of the mattress (my pump had 2 prongs that you pinch inward and the pump pops out). Took duct tape and circled the inside opening of where I removed air pump, reinstalled air pump and had a significantly less leak.

I have a man trying to fix mine at this moment! Trying to get hex key to take plate off as may be the rubber gasket. If no luck were going to try something we got from easy life which is uk based which is thick gloop and worked brilliantly on a soil pipe joint.
I'm having the same problem. I've just taped the whole pump area and used a separate pump to inflate the airbed. Here's hoping
I had the same issue and was able to solve it. To confirm the leaking I sprayed soapy water around the pump casing (as my mattress didn't have any puncture) after it was completely full and then I turned the pump's inlet-outlet knob counterclockwise to release the air and noticed the bubbles around the casing. Now, to open the pump's casing, I had in my model 4 rounds circles (one in each corners) and those are pins. Use a flat screw driver carefully around the casing to remove it (there is nothing you can break by removing this but you don't want to mess it up anyways). The problem of the leaking is from inside the mattress, when you turn the knob counterclockwise it pushes a spring pin to release the air, otherwise it will use the same air pressure to inflate. So, because the problem is inside the air mattress I decided not to touch that part but to put sealant around the casing,pins, and the switch (you can remove the switch too the same way you do for the casing. I waited 1 hour and tested and it is leak free. Just run more soapy water to find any leaking and put sealant (i.e. silicone) as needed. Hope this help.
have the same thought, something wrong with the lousy built in pump system and the girl from intex costumer service cannot help you....wasted time
I have the same problem. Its happened to two different Neverflat Serta air beds that I've owned. Serta air beds are made by Intex and look almost identical to the Intex ones just with the Serta logo.
Intex, the manufacturer is quite aware of this defect in these pumps but does nothing about it. They pretend as if it doesn't exist. However, if it happens during the warranty period they'll send you another one, yet the same thing will happen to the new one too. Yet they won't send you a 3rd one under warranty, even if the 1st two were both defective. On both my original and the replacement the pump jumped out of the back of the bed when the gasket failed.
I've spoken with an Intex representative who pretended to have no knowledge of the defect even though I sent him over 50 instances of reviews of this product both Serta and Intex saying very much what we're saying here: that bed was not leaking anywhere except around the motor making it unusable.
He had no recommendations of how that could be fixed and pretended not to be aware that there was such an issue with these beds. Yet he was person that serviced the warranties on these beds, both the Serta and Intex models.
There is no way that they don't absolutely know this but continues to sell these products with this defect rather than fixing whatever it is that causes the gasket around the pump to fail. It's likely the design is flawed and the gasket isn't sufficient to hold the pump in place. Just another fraud being perpetuated on the American consumer with cheap Chinese defective products.
I'm trying to find the best silicone glue to use. Gorilla glue did not work for me. It's a possibility that JB Weld regular epoxy or the one especially made for plastic may work. I might try that next. Hope this helps. I'll update my post if I successfully repair either of my two beds. They are both in like-new condition. I take good care of everything I own. Hope this helps.
solved it. picture the pump neing in a box with a screw on lid. the box the lid screws into it glued onto another lid that is heat welded to the bed itself. the glue fails. might be heat, bad glue..who knows. anyway, I discovered this while pushing the lid on without screwing it on, to temporarily fill the bed. the lit went 1/8 or so into the bed! so, I got some lifecaulk from my boat, filled in the gap, squeezed the box and secondary lid together and let it dry overnight. put the screw on lid on and fired up the pump. it held air, overnight...no air loss
Any thoughts on how to fix leaking from the neverflat plate to the left of the pump. It is leaking from the top of the plate
I have repaired mine and was initially leaking. Open a screw inside the pump then screw it back

my pump was not turning on. remove the four push pins (two are covered up by label or start prying from the right. Found the Neutral wire had come unplugged from the wire connector.
My air bed while it is inflating there was sound like a cord burst in side when I open there was a cord tied to to electric cored that was burst and I can't fine where it was connected to because it stop.working what to do
Inside (under the lid) is a pump and flow switch. When removed ( only 3 screws) there is a square rubber sealing. Replacement of this should solve the problem of deflating. Original part doesn't exist but similar are used for water pumps.... knock yourself out....
interesting, I dismanteled teh pump, but could not find the correct seal. Did you find a fitting alternative (which one) regards Eelco
My Intex removable air pump started leaking, and was loose where it fits in the bracket.
I removed the pump after deflating the mattress. I then slid the seal towards the bottom of the pump, and then reinstalled the pump. This made the pump tighter in the bracket for the built in pump, and stopped leaking from loose seal.
Appears to be a manufacturer defect because the seal shouldn't have to be moved around to cause it to seal.
