Reuse Frames for New Pictures

I worked with a few craft teachers in a hobby and craft supply store. It was great to see people that have a store where they make money not only on resale of products, but services like picture framing and changing old frames, filling the back of a picture to have no air in the frame work, to preserve the paper of the picture. This was left over paper or cardboard, some scrapbook pages fill in with the least amount of chemicals.

When people left the old frame asking us to dispose of it, we refaced it and put it in the discount box. The glass was kept to cut smaller or was put in a frame and hung to show examples of repairs. Nothing in a store would go to waste. Each department had a number, this way you kept track of it.

In our homes, we can have places for paper cardboard and frames and glass. It all takes little room in a home. I have a small closet with a large old cardboard box flattened to the left side. All papers and flat things were put behind this. The area close to the ceiling has a shelf and hangers for extra frames to sit or hang. We may only have to buy one or two things when framing because we have supplies in the closet.

I have framed some posters to sell, for school fund raisers, or friends will bring me a family picture to make a display for a family gathering. Cutting costs for each other helps because I get favors from others with different talents.
