Ribbon and Button Flower Brooch

Supplies:

• 6 2.5 inch lengths of 1 inch wide ribbon
• 1 brooch pin
• 1 small square of felt
• 1 button
• needle and thread
• scissors
• strong clear glue

Steps:

1. Fold a piece of ribbon in half and make a back stitch.

 
2. Then make running (gathering) stitches.

 
3. Take another piece of ribbon and fold it in half. Continue to make running stitches.

 
4. Continue in the same way with all of the lengths of ribbon.

5. Pull gently to gather and secure with a back stitch. Do not cut the thread.

 
6. Choose a button and sew it to the centre of the flower.

 
7. Secure it behind with a back stitch.

 
8. Sew the brooch pin to the back.

 
9. Cut a square of felt to fit inside the pin to cover the stitching.

10. Round off the corners and apply glue.

 
11. Stick the felt in place.

 
12. Make sure the glue has dried thoroughly before wearing your brooch.
