Save Ramen Noodle Flavor Packets

I empty the packets into clean salt shakers, using each flavour separately. That way, you can use a little to add a bit of spice to many dishes. I pick up shakers at yard sales, so no extra cost!

I think this is a good tip in more ways than one. I buy Ramen noodles, occasionally. I find that the flavor packs contain way too much salt for a single serving of noodles. So much, in fact, I think it's unhealthy.

I've made some rather tasty chicken gravy with the half pack of flavoring I always have left over. Sometimes, I perk up a simple pot of stewed potatoes with it. It seems to be the equivalent of a bouillon cube, only powdered, and much, much cheaper.

Thanks, Faye

I agree, way too much sodium in that little packet, I only use about a third of it for a bowl of noodles and save the remainder. They are essentially the same as bouillion, and are great to make homemade condensed soups for recipes
