Spiking a Mohawk

When I was in high school in the 80's, there were Filipino twin brothers that had heavy thick straight hair. They would shampoo, then blow dry til damp, then use egg whites and finish blowdrying into the shape they wanted.

I seem to recall one having a mohawk at least 6 inches tall, and the other had "wings" sticking up on each side and it would stay that way all day. There may have been a finishing coat of hairspray involved too though none was mentioned. Sometimes natural is better!
