Sterling Silver Ring Discolored by Denture Cleaner?

Sterling Silver Ring Discolored by Denture CleanerI'm so stupid. I have 4 rings all are sterling silver. I'm heartbroken. I put them in denture cleaner. I thought it would clean them good. Are they ruined" It was my mother's ring that my sons got me. my wedding set, and my Christmas present from my husband. Omg

Try to clean your sterling silver jewerly with natural solutions like mild soap and warm water, that works for me along with a polishing cloth.

Thank you. Lesson learned. I'm gonna take these to a jewelry shop and see if they can fix them. I'll do it right next time. Thank you again

Thank you so much. I thought I lost them forever. Came out great. I'm so happy.

Dont worry it is not ruined it is very easy to fix sterling silver or pure silver its just a surface tarnish it only goes Mile inches and thats probably even stretching it but all you need to do is take them to a jeweler and they can have them cleaned like brand new for about $10-$15 apiece in Connecticut but otherwise they are not ruined dont try to clean them yourself youll just end up making them look dollar than they already are they need special rubbing compound now and buffing compound to bring out the natural beauty of the silver again so I suggest that you bring them to the jeweler it is worth the money

Put aluminium paper in a bowl, put vinaigre and baking soda on the aluminium paper. Put four rings on it and pour warm water.

Leave it there for some time. You will see your silver rings change back to their original colour

Toothpaste preferably blue and a tooth brush it works. I just had the same problem from cleaning my house.

I would take them to a jeweler and have them clean and polish them.

Having your rings professionally cleaned sounds good but it could be costly with that many rings.

Plain white toothpaste may help. Just a basic one, not with whitening power or any of that...like a plain original Colgate or even a plain generic brand. When I used to have a set of sterling silverware, I had one that was accidentally left in the sink overnight with dish soap (it fell into a soaking pan of yuck) when I found it it was all discolored and awful looking.

Polishing it with plain old white toothpaste on a white cloth got it back. It took a few times of rubbing, but it worked.

For all of my jewelry, I use a small amount of toothpaste and a soft bristled toothbrush to clean them. They come out sparkling and shining just like new.

That has happened to me. i clean my dishes with a little bleach, and the bleach turned by silver rings grayish-white.
I cleaned the rings with mild liquid dish detergent and water. then I used a tiny bit of toothpaste. Rub the toothpaste in with a soft cloth under and top of the ring. Rinsed it off, then puff the ring. IT'S GOOD AS NEW.

I used Colgate toothpaste and baking soda, scrubbed with a green wool brush for a minute, and ring looks good as new! I had also immersed it in bleach before this and totally freaked out.
