Substituting Gelatin for Pectin in Pepper Jelly?

I am going to make some pepper jelly. The recipe calls for pectin, but the food store nearest me only had gelatin. Can I use it in place of the pectin? Thanks!

I would not unless you can find a recipe specific to using the gelatin. You will not get the consistency you want. I have never seen a recipe that calls for gelatin. Maybe someone here has one. I only ever used the pectin and that is all my old recipes called for.

Sorry.

No. Order it from Amazon if your local stores do not have it.
