This project cost about $1.21 if I were to make 4 (made 3) with items I already had at home.

Total Time: 1 hour

Supplies:

Succulent Planter Gift - collage of supplies

Steps:

  1. For this project, I used the wide pint jars by the brand Ball (purchased from Target.)
  2. Fill about half with soil.
  3. Succulent Planter Gift - wide mouth mason jar

Succulent Planter Gift - jar half filled with soil

  4. Get some succulents from your yard (preferably with roots). Plant in the jar.
  5. Succulent Planter Gift - succulent plants

  8. I used wide burlap I had bought during Christmas and cut into 3 pieces as an accent. I dabbed a little hot glue on the jar to secure the burlap down and used twine to tie a bow.
  9. Succulent Planter Gift - burlap strips for decorating the jars

Succulent Planter Gift - dab of glue

Succulent Planter Gift - one end glued to jar

Succulent Planter Gift - strip wrapped and glued

  10. I wrote, with a Sharpie, on a clothespin each teacher and teacher assistant's name (made 3 in total).
  11. Succulent Planter Gift - write recipient's name on clothespin

  12. Secured with a little note card. I used this background https://www.burlapandblue.com/2016/04/15/watercolor-flowers-free-printables/ and edited to write a custom message then printed out, cut. Attached gift card and note to the planter. Ready to gift!
