Taking Firestone Tires in Garbage Bin?

In the state of Ohio, can I go to Firestone and get used tires out of bin outside of the shop for my car? I really need tires but I don't want to go there and get in trouble.

I would not recommend that you do this at all and it could be dangerous for you in the long run. People swap out their tires for a good reason and getting them ut of the trash you have no idea what is really wrong with them. This company also has a recycling program that they send all their tires to. The program recycles the tires to rubberized asphalt or other reusable products.

If you are in desperate need of tires for your car maybe go and speak with them first before just taking some out of the trash. There are other ways to find tires for your car that are a lot safer than taking them out of the trash.

If you need some help I would contact this site and tell them your problem. They have helped millions of people to pay their electric bills and other things. Give them a shot and see what they offer you. www.needhelppayingbills.com/.../free_car_repairs.html

I believe this could have serious consequences and should not be done; also, the tires in that dumpster could be worse for you than what you already have.

We all know these can be very hard times for many people due to many factors and even more so with the problems the COVID-19 virus has caused.
Ohio passed a new law in 2018 that used tires with almost any problem cannot be placed on cars/trucks so this should mean that any tire in that dumpster has serious defects and should not be used.

This should also mean that any business selling used tires should have only very good used tires for sale. Have you asked any of the tire sales shops about the cost of used tires? Don't forget, there are usually always state fees, disposal fees, and taxes that have to be added even to used tires. Maybe you could replace one or two at a time?

If this is not possible then you should seek help from other sources. We do not know your situation so you will have to check on agencies for yourself to see if you can qualify for assistance.
I can tell you this much; if you have children and it is necessary for you to transport them in this unsafe vehicle then you may qualify quicker if you present this information to the agencies.
I can provide some links but you should apply at several agencies to see if you qualify and to see if they still have available funds:

Ohio law states the companies can only use pick up service for defective tires so even if you ask for permission to go through the tires in the dumpster it would be against the law for them to let you have them.

It seems that you want to do this with without the knowledge of the establishment . This is against the law. You could always ask in person. Often there is a service/collector that those tires are promised to.

This is risky on all levels, but I can see your need. Ask them, maybe they have a better idea to helping you.

You could try calling and asking them if it's an option or contact smaller tire companies. In my state they sell used tires for a discount (or you can check on Craigslist)
