Temporary Wire Dog Crate Liner?

What can I use to line a wire dog crate temporarily? The flimsy plastic tray that came with it is broken, and I need to replace it. However, I am housing a dog in it that has a medical problem where she has some urinary incontinence. Any ideas until I can buy a replacement tray? Thank you in advance for any ideas!

I'm afraid that anything you buy for this purpose will be expensive - especially if it is a large crate.
Just for a very temporary length of time I would consider using a large piece of cardboard (maybe a flattened box) and enclose it in a large strong black bag - tape the bag around the cardboard so it fits tightly. This will be slippery and any towels or whatever you're using may slip around when the dog is in the cage. You may be able to take some large clothes pins and fasten the covers to the cardboard to hold it tight.

Not sure this will work but just off-hand my mind is not coming up with anything very smart.

If you decide to buy something, I would suggest you visit either Ace or True Value Hardware stores and tell them your problem. They may have something you can use until you can get a new liner.
Also, check with you auto stores to see if they have something as mechanics use things like this all the time.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention your Tractor Supply stores or any large feed store as they have all kinds of trays and may be less money than from a regular pet store.

Hopefully, other members will present some good ideas.

We would nee to know the size of the crate, but you might try the local hardware store for trays made to go under appliances or a boot tray from most big-box stores.

Chewy sells replacement trays and depending on the size, they start at 9.99. Short term, take a shower curtain and top it with newspaper.

An old washable rug would work too. Prayers for the pup!

Try old bath towels for a temporary fix.

They have the fake turf w/ trays that can help with this issue. You could also build this with a tray and turf from your home improvement store. The turf will give the feeling of grass and the tray underneath could make it makes for easier clean up, if you want to try the recycling route , you could use newspapers.

Try using a pillow. Wrap the pillow in a plastic bag, such as a large leaf bag, and put a blanket over it. If the dog wets, you just wash the blanket. Good luck!
