Treating Itching from a Yeast Infection on Skin?

After clearing up the rash from a a body yeast infection, the itching is terrible. Does anyone know what to do that will get rid of it? It's under my breast, stomach, and small tummy roll!

Ask your dermatologist or pcp if dandruff shampoo like head and shoulders will help you! It was a G-d send when she prescribed it for me. I bought the generic version and it worked to stop the painful itch! Don't do this without getting the ok from a doc. This was my doc's go to!! Prayers and healing wishes!!

Part of my post disappeared...sorry...it is supposed to say to SHOWER with the dandruff shampoo at least once a day. This tamed the itch considerably!! It was a low cost, and non invasive way to treat!! Good luck!

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly and I will mention you're suggestion about the dandruff shampoo. I am hoping something works. This is only the 2nd time I've had to deal with this. I currently use Selsun Blue Shampoo. I will definitely ask my physician!

Again, Thank you!

Hi Debra, the selsum should work just as well. My doc said to use it like body wash and leave it sit on the sore spots for a few minutes, then rinse in the shower. To me, it was like a miracle!! Take care! Sending up lots of healing wishes!

Aquaphor or Eucerin creams are very moisturizing. You can also apply Vaseline while your skin is still wet from the shower

Ask your doctor for a prescription or Nystatin powder! It works great!

Hi Jackie
I had a prescription for the Nystatin Powder. It cleared up the rash immediately in 2-3 day's. This was after a doctor on call prescribed an anti-fungal cream with a steroid in it. The next day I was in the walk in clinic with a Severe Rash and itch. He stated he could not understand why the physician on call prescribed an anti-fungal medication with a steroid. I had to stop that immediately after only 1 application.

It was so bad it HURT! He prescribed the Nystatin Powder. It took a second prescription of Nystatin to clear up the rash. Now the Dr said to use Lamisel twice daily & baby powder for the itching!

Thank you for getting back to me. I agree, they should have prescribed the Nystatin Powder ASAP. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me.
