My Kenmore side by side is not making ice. If I apply pressure to the blue thing, I get water, but no ice.

Troubleshooting Kenmore Refrigerator Ice Maker

I have a 10 year old Kenmore side by side refrigerator which quit making ice after we had to replace the water valve in the wall. The fridge stayed plugged in, which allowed the water to freeze in the line to the ice maker. I used a hair dryer and blew hot air on the black inlet tube for about 5 minutes, and it melted the ice. The ice maker is working normally now. (05/11/2010)
