Upcycled Stool

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 221 Posts

The finished upcycled stool. In our neighbor's trash with a broken leg. Cost of project: free. I had fabric and paint and glue on hand and it looks like a new stool for my shabby chic bedroom I have been decorating. If I hadn't snatched it, it would have gone to the dump!

Total Time: 1 hour

Yield: 1

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. I took the seat off of the frame and repaired the broken leg using wood glue and a clamp.
  2. The stool with a broken leg.

  3. When the glue was dry, I spray painted the legs and base of the stool to give it a fresh look.
  4. Painting the stool legs.

  5. Using a piece of fabric I covered the existing top of the stool and stapled the fabric to the underneath side. Then, I reattached the top to the frame of the stool.
  6. Stapling the fabric to the underside of a seat.
