serval sheets of different sandpaperTo keep new shoes from being too slippery take sandpaper and rough up the bottoms. If you don't have sandpaper rub them against rocks, bricks, or concrete.

This is a great tip! I always do this especially with dress shoes or when I'm a bridesmaid (last thing you need is to slip on the dance floor in front of everybody!).
