These books look rather new and are not in the same binding or print as an older copy from the 1700 to 1900's. I don't think these have much of a value because they aren't old enough. You won't be able to get much from these books. If they are a lot older they could bring you a nice price. People are just not buying books that aren't 100+ years old these days.

Your set, MDCCLXXI is a reprint of the 1771 set and there are quite a few of these presently floating around the Internet. The reprint date is not always stated.

  • Several sets are listed on eBay but the sale price runs from low $30 to $95. (Asking prices ($49-$200) do not really mean very much as only a sale price shows what someone will actually pay.)
  • Even if they are in very good condition, getting more than $30-$40 would be rare and may take months and months to sell (most educational books are very slow sellers).
  • Examples:
  • www.amazon.com/.../ref=tmm_other_meta_binding_used_olp_sr... (Affiliate Link)
  • These books are also free to read or download which makes the value even lower.
  • catalog.hathitrust.org/.../012142013
  • If you are interested in selling why not try your local Craigslist and maybe start your price at $100 and lower it if no interest is shown.
  • Craigslist is by far the easiest site to list items and with very little (if any) cost it brings just as good results and no shipping involved.

The Roman numerals on the bottom say 1776. I'm not sure if this is the original or a copy. You should take it to a book dealer to get a free verbal appraisal.
