Go on eBay and see what similar machines sell for. Check often for a few weeks

Hello
There should be an antique website that you can go to that would tell you the value. Enter in the make and model and possibly the serial number. Possibly the pat. dates also. I will check for antique sites for you and let you know if I come across one. Good luck.

Hello
I have found a website for you that I feel might help. You would have the option to chat with someone that is an appraiser on the value of your sewing machine.

At the moment there are no matching machines to yours on eBay. There is a cabinet that looks similar, you would need to zoom on the photos from the ad to compare to yours. It went unsold in the mid-400s. Interestingly, cabinets usually have more value than the machine because of TV shows like Flea Market Flip and Salvage Dawgs where they make cool things from them.

Here is some general info on valuing machines:

Also of interest on the eBay list were that throat plates were sold for $17.00. Sadly some items are worth more for the parts than the whole.

Check back to eBay frequently to find an exact match to yours....in terms of machine, accessories, case, cabinet, etc.

When you find a sold one, you will know today's actual market value.

In all probability, you will never see another VS 1 as these are really unique machines and it is nice that you still have the plate showing the date as the only information that I could find was all of the VS 1 machines were made between 1876-1882 which means your machine is in the very last ones made.

I hope they give you a good appraisal but if you wish to check someplace else, I would suggest Banaby's as I have had some excellent results from their company. The charge $17 but it is usually money well spent.

Here is a link in case you are interested.

I hope you will post back when you receive some information as we love to hear good news.
