Vow Renewal Ceremony?

My husband and I just celebrated 19 years of marriage on March 17th. Our first wedding was just with the justice of the peace which was fine with both of us at the time. I just randomly picked a day a month before we knew we wanted to get married.

We want to renew our vows in a very small ceremony, but we want to do it at our church (because we now have a church family and want to redo our vows in our church). I don't really want to do it in March. Fall is my favorite time of year and I have always dreamed of a fall wedding. So is it appropriate to renew our vows in the fall and not on our actual anniversary?
