What Breed Is My Dog?

What Breed Is My Dog?I rescued a dog and was told it was a Pit mix with either Mountain Cur or Blue Heeler. Can you tell? She is the best dog ever. She loves people and absolutely loves kids. She does not bark at people, but she is just very calm. She stays by my side when we walk. The vet thinks she may have been a therapy dog or service dog which worked out great for me and my health.

First and for most , thanks for rescuing her! She will stand by you, and be a great help to you. I believe she is Pit bull and Mountain Cur. This mix will make her a leader and a protector all the while loving. You two have each other and she knows that she was chosen and will thank you for that!

That is suppose to say does NOT bark at people lol she is such a sweet dog. I have issues getting up on my porch and she always waits for me and assist me getting onto my porch. When we walk out in a leash she walks right by my side and looks up at me often As if she is checking on me.

We also rescued a chihuahua 2 months after we rescued her. They are best friends.

She looks like she is posing for the camera!
I had a wonderful doctor (now retired) that had a service dog that resembles this one so much and she just loved going to the children's wards at our local hospitals. I accompanied him on his trips several times and this dog was so happy as she knew where she was going and would just pull on the lease trying to hurry us along.

Your dog sounds like that so I know you will have a lovely companion for life.

As to breed; she looks like she may have more than a couple of mixes which probably helps make this wonderful personality and may mean she will also have less health issues.

If you really wish to know, you can purchase a DNA kit as these usually provide a lot of information as to breeding and also cautions about future health problems.
The cost runs between $45-$200 and higher according to how much information you want supplied. These can be purchased online, pet shops and vets.

Looks like you have a winning combination of doggies as both look very loving.

I can see several breeds of dogs or what looks like the dog could be mixed with. I think there might be some boxer in her or even bull terrier along with the pit. She is a beautiful dog and sounds like she is a very loyal dog and will give you years of happiness.

Dogs that are rescued and giving a loving home are the most loyal dogs you can get. Enjoy your new pups and have a lot of fun. It is good that you have rescued both dogs and I am sure they are so happy in their new home.

What an awesome rescue story!!

I am surprised the vet didn't weigh in on the breed.

There (to me) looks like a drop of aussie shepherd in that sweet face!!

Wishing you a lifetime of amazing adventures!

I'm so glad you rescued this wonderful dog. She appears to be a multi-mix, my term for a dog with several breeds in its bloodline. I think there may be some terrier breeds and boxer in your dog.

Enjoy the bond you have with this dog and be thankful you had the opportunity to bring her into your life.
