I have whitish tan little flecks and balls, also pepper looking balls that BITE! They dont move, just appear on my furniture, car,clothes. I'm in Sacramento, CA. Anyone know what this is?

These look like the no-see-um bugs They are horrible and the bit really does some damage. Some people call these sand fleas and when they do bite they leave blister type bits on your skin that turn red and itch like crazy. They are so hard to get rid of and in some cases almost impossible. They do sell special window screens that you can put up in your home to keep them out of your house. As for your car, this one will be a lot harder to keep them out of there. I would also consult a pest control in your area and see if they can come and spray your yard for them. That is the only way we can keep them under control where I live. If you do get them sprayed they will stay gone for a few weeks but they always seem to come back here.
Thank you for your response...the thing is..it follows me. It's not something from outside I've done treatments for Lice, scabies,. Had two exterminators say its Lint. I put some belongings in a truck to get them out of sight for a holiday celebration.
This is called Ceratopogonidae - better known as biting midges or no-see- ums. Very small and biting. Here is more info on them - en.wikipedia.org/
There is so much 'information' about cases like this just flying around the Internet that just causes so much confusion and yet it seems to be a personal and mental nightmare for a lot of people.
There have been so many names given to the episodes people describe - such as your case - but not many real solutions or even good explanations.
Most people say their doctors do not have an answer but prescribe medications that do not appear to help.
I'm really hoping that your dermatologist will give you an answer and provide a way to get rid of whatever is bothering you.
Some say they clean everything with Lysol and that helps as well as washing everything washable in hot water and also vacuuming everyday for a while.
You can read what some people are saying about similar problems but just remember; some of these remarks are way out in 'left field' and may not have anything to do with the real world.
I'm wondering if someone at your county extension agency might be able to help identify whatever is biting you.
