They sleep when it is dark. If you want them to sleep during the day, draw the shades and cover their cage with a sheet.
Zebra finches will sleep off and on during day and night. It has to be dark in the cage. Put a blanket over the cage. They also like a nest you can buy at the pet store.
I just read that you should never have a nest in the cage unless you are wanting them to have babies.I went on there to see why my two males were chasing each other and it looked like they were fighting.It said because of the nest is territorial so to take it out.Also to put more perching areas so they have boundaries.And yes they love being covered it calms them.
