Craft: Woven Felt Sachet Heart

Using felt, scrap pieces of ribbon and lace, you can quickly create some sachet hearts for your loved ones this Valentine's Day.

Approximate Time: About an hour

Supplies:

• red felt rectangle
• ribbon scraps
• piece of gathered lace
• hot glue gun and glue sticks
• pen or pencil
• scissors
• potpourri

Instructions:

Draw and cut out two hearts from the felt that are the same size. They should measure about 5 inches wide at the widest point. Cut vertical slits in one of the hearts that are approximately one-half inch apart, but do not cut all the way to the top or bottom edge of the heart. Cut to within one-half inch of the top and bottom of the heart. (Refer to photo.) Weave ribbon pieces over and under the slits, gluing in place at each side of heart. Glue gathered lace around back edge of woven heart. Glue second heart to back of woven heart, leaving about a two-inch opening. Fill with potpourri, then glue opening shut. Tie a small bow from a piece of ribbon and glue to top of heart.
